 Re: Weekly Secret Word
A dumb question:
Does the snapshot have to show part of the layout, or can we just show an Editor's window showing the magic word? I'm watching some entries just showing a naked window, and I'm guessing how hard can be to 'cheat'...It doesn't seem a safe system, if that's permitted...

The screenshot should show the map in Radiant's window and ideally the word is written into the wireframe of the map. If that isn't available then writing the text into the window somewhere is fine too.

Personally, I would be more concerned about the lack of sight on the screenshots such as a zoom in on a single wall with nothing on the wireframe view. I then though that some guys might attempt to perhaps copy your style or layout if everything was shown (even thought if they are copying, you should in theory win against such guys anyway)

The solution I just came up with is to show the same point of view every time, and the full map on the wireframe. That way, you show the changes but not too much details I guess and we avoid the uninformative screenshots as well.

@ShaZe Totally Agreed. That's the way i'm submitting my infos, progress can be followed in both views. I don't matter somebody copying the layout because that's not the only point to judge when the map's finished, isn't it?

Yeah, the screenshots are really to encourage people to view your map and give early feedback, if nothing else it allows people to see your map develop, rather than everyone's mapping topic just have a bunch of text with a download link in the last reply. Consider it (forced) marketing for your design.
