It's on ma friend... 8)
Na very nice plant textures, for real!
Is the right pillar different to the one on the left side, or is it just the fov? Cause it looks a bit squished.

Post Re: Penumbra by Noruen
Hi guys!

I'm screwed! My notebook is nonfunctional and all my data is on its HD. I don't know WHEN I would be able to restore data or to return to functional state (that damn machine!!!). So:

1) Maverick, please excuse me from my duty to post "screen of the week" for some, unspecified time, because i can't.

2) If anybody here can hlep me..? When I turn on my NB, DVD mechanic sounds like it is booting, but still in infinite cycles - nothing will show on display, can't run BIOS... Insertion of DVD (bootable) do nothing. Somebody on HW forums told me it is problem of motherboard (he said motherboard is still restarting), but yesterday I have had same problem, but opening and closing of DVD mechanic helped.

Thank you. I hope I would be able to return to work very soon, but We have work holidays in our country and I don't know how expensive fix of this damned problem will be.

:(

If you have another computer you can at least get the hard drive out and plug it into the other system to get your files.

Yeah, it would be possible, but only if I have power reduction to that small bastards. I have only my very old table PC with classical 3,5" HD and I need reduction to 2,5" HD from NB. so goodbye my hope. Nevermind - I am booked to some service and I hope all my data will be ok.

But I don't know if I can post this week's secret word (they are lazy).

Man that completely sucks. I do know how you feel though.I lost months of work
on a map I had been working on and managed to recover it with the help of people
at Map Center. The computer I'm using now is old and beginning to act up so I
keep everything backed up on a PNY 4 gig usb flash drive. If my computer bites
the big one I at least have my files.

Q3Nightmare - Thank you and it is probably SATA (but 2,5" and i don't have reduction - but my friend arrive tomorrow and he has some). I thought about RAM too, but I am far from the knowledge about computers... So I visit some tech support and see what they can do.

kaustic - yeah. I backup everything continuosuly, but I have no backup since early June, so my map, files, everything is on HD where I can't reach them... Well I don't feel aware about files, HD is probably ok and today there are so many methods to get them. But problem is NB. My old Pc can't work with games - it's overheating and I don't want to put ANY money to it :)

I feel like zombie without my photoshop and other graphical programs...

No problem, if you havent got any knowledge about hardware dont try anything is safer, i was going to advise you few things to do about your RAM but let the tech support do it, also for your harddrive if its sata you could plug it into your desktop pc if there is sata connectors on your motherboard but note *** you have to know if that specific model of harddrive supports it because some of them dont support 12V only 5V so it would burn that also ***, if in any case you need help on retrieving all your data let me know i could advise you what to do even if your harddrive wont start.

So... My NB is in diagnostice department and results would be in upcoming 5 working days (I hope it is NOT motherborard!).

It means no screens in following week, probably. But I want final result from MAVERICK if I'm lost or I can continue after my problem will be (hopefuly) resolved.

Seeing as how you've come this far along I think an exception is in order.
