i dunno what happened here, but the screenshots just got worse.

the first screenshots were good, and it looked like you had a solid 1v1 classic map right there. now it looks like everything is changing...

lighting, textures, layout, etc.

Sadly you are all correct - about the layout... It's been done in a haste and needs to be iterated a lot more!
Uh... texture and light are ofc just raw to be able to move the level around w/o having any custom assets...

IMO waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big for 1vs1. It looks suitable for 2vs2 or even 4vs4 TDM.

Next batch of screens will probably be with graphics, cause I feel that I can't spend much more hard time on layout. If I do, I won't be able to make the level look as I want it too.
And, the level is even smaller now, both in height and width!

I'm gonna see about putting out a playable version with items for everyone this week...

Some issue here is the blue supporting wooden pillars, it's just a test, I don't know really.
The ivy texture is half the res since I need to remake it in higher, I'll see I can find the time, it's supposed to have an alpha shadow too...

For Phenom:

Locked the style and design of these kinds of places, there will be a few, so I need to come up with more color variations for the walls, that don't stick out too much I think.
Removed the ugly blue tree texture and them long support pillars, created more shapes and structure, added transparent dirty windows with complementary backdrop.

Added outside area style - this will, just like the above style, probably be tweaked around for a while. This was the first take on this set...

I could show a lot more, but I will wait with that, not really ready I think...


I'm leaving for vacation soon and I will most likely be gone when the contest is over, so uh, well, I'm gonna speed it up. And, well, you guys will probably play a final version of the level... that's pretty much how this will end up I think.

Check out History, Industrial and Crescent, all of which are extremely nice maps. :D

Well done, hip. I think your map looks fine. It's a shame you will be short on time. Really robbing this competition of some nice mapping. Hopefully you have fun on your vacation, and good luck with your map release and the competition. :D
