Hi fellows, I resolved to participate in the comptetition. I don't have really time for this, but I've just seen that it will run for 10 weeks, so I'm sure I'll manage to make it somehow ;).

Hello!

Ok, finally I had a little time to think about my map. I decided to go with 1v1, medium size map. Actually I have 2 layouts and have to decide which one to use, or maybe even combine them somehow. Unfortunately they are still only on paper :). I'll try to submit some real thing next week, maybe even an alpha release. Right now as I can see the competition is going really nice, there are some really promising maps. I'm sure in the end we will get real quality mappack.

It's second week so I suppose should post anything, so here it is. Take a look at preview of my brilliant, amazing 1v1 map :).

Here are first shots from my map. It's still editor only, don't want to show everything at the start :). I'm after few hours of playtest, and dare to say I'm pretty content with what I have. The map feels quite classic, reminds me some q1 and q3 ofc older maps. I've made some new textures for it (part are 100% mine, some are based on id stock textures), and I already know how this map should look like in the end. So there shouldn't be too much problems with developing it. At least I hope so ;).

some of the textures look like the textures by Method (qLive).
ive asked him durin the last competition:
"i found textures from u for q3"

answer: "they are property of ID-software"!

All custom textures I've made myself. Part of it is based on stock id textures, and part is completely new content.

Kid, what texture are you talking about, I can't really see any texture that looks like the ones from QL?

That is the ONLY bad thing about everyone using the same couple of texture resource sites...textures start looking very similar. It would be nice if there were a few more sites like that in which to download high quality texture bases.

I've actually thought about starting one, but I would first need a better lense for my camera before I would even consider that.

that trim of the wall (lower part)
looks like the trim of Methods "Test-Map" (yan_test).
i have seen it in some other maps too ...
also cityy has used it in an older map.

and the floor looks like the floor out of "Asylum".
