Looking good so far, I don't even have a full layout yet.

 Re: ct3dm5 by cityy
Thanks man! I had a day off from school today so I had some time to work on the map. I had the idea of the room with the whisker text and the rest of the layout was developed today. There is still plenty of time but I really wanted to start!

Things go quickly today. I start to feel comfortable with the textures.

Wow that's looking great for one day. I really like the textures so far. I see a little hall of mirrors though.

Oh, seems like a caulk brush made it's way through there. New shot:

 Re: ct3dm5 by cityy
Made my mind about doorways, trims, item placement and the sponsor images today.

I tried clicking the last image in your latest post, and it timed out. "Unable to connect"

 Re: ct3dm5 by cityy
looking cool cityy, the quad area is already becoming distinctive. are you familiar with the hot place by sumatra? your shots have a similar feel in the rockwork.
edit: actually, sumatra had another map that used eq2 that was really cool and purple-lit. might want to check that one out too for ideas

 Re: ct3dm5 by cityy
Thanks, kaz! The rail area in "the hot place" is very simular to mine - Im gonna look into including that fog effect sumatra used. Thanks Anthem, good to see you signed up aswell. Good luck! Today's shots: It took me way too long to build this.. had some problems with gtkradiant 1.5 and the terrain - switched to 1.4 now.

I recently discovered that 1.5 is WAY better for making terrain. Initially I thought it would be impossible because they took out shear dragging, but then I figured out about the rectangle select in vertex mode and man, I am hooked. Psst, the trick is to break up all your brushes into triangles beforehand. Then it's like working with a patch mesh.
